CIDG COLLARS CHINESE FOR TRADING PHP 1.5M ALLEGED SUBSTANDARD SOLAR LIGHTS AND PANELS IN BULACAN

‎On June 30, 2026 from 8:00 PM to 12:30 PM of July 1, 2026*, the CIDG Eastern Metro Manila District Field Unit of CIDG National Capital Region in coordination with territorial police units conducted a law enforcement operation against alleged violation of Republic Act No. 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines) at a warehouse located in Brgy. Matungao, Bulakan, Bulacan that resulted in the arrest of a male suspect, and confiscation of alleged substandard solar lights and panels with an estimated total value of Php 1,540,000.00.

A report that reached PMGEN Robert AA Morico II, the Director of CIDG stated that the suspect “Han” male, 35 years old, Chinese national, businessman, owner of the warehouse was caught while selling and trading solar lights and panels that are allegedly not compliant with the safety and quality standards of the Republic Act No. 7394.

The CIDG Director emphasized that it is the policy of the State to protect the interests of the consumers, promote their general welfare, and establish standards of conduct for business and industry. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) strictly enforces safety standards to protect all consumers from all hazards.

The CIDG’s intensified operations is in compliance with the focused program thrust of the Chief of the Philippine National Police, POLICE GENERAL JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ JR.

The CIDG leadership commends PCOL John K Guiagui, the Regional Chief of the CIDG National Capital Region Field Unit, and the CIDG Eastern Metro Manila District Field Unit led by PLTCOL Nelson S Cortez for the successful crackdown on alleged substandard products, and arrest of the violator of law.
